SMS Top Up is a service available to make recharging of Econet prepaid lines and payment of contract lines easier for FBC individual account holders. Upon successful recharge of a prepaid line, the user’s FBC Bank account is debited with the amount whilst their lines are credited with the equivalent airtime value. For contract lines customers can pay their bills or someone else’s bill using the Go – Mula facility
How do I transfer airtime to my Econet line?
create a new message type 3*topup*500 and send to 747 (recharge amount is 500)
To recharge someone’s cell phone simply
create a new message type 3*topup*250*091000000 and send to 747 (091000000 is the cell phone to be recharged)
After receiving your topup request, you will be challenged to submit parts of your password. For e.g. your password is 85132 and you are challenged to supply the 2nd and 4th parts of your password.
create a new message type 3*53 and send to 747
You and the recipient of your top up will receive a success confirmation SMS message.
How do I change my pin? For example, from 85132 to 19407
create a new message type 3*pin*85132*19407 and send to 444 or 747
How do I pay a contract line bill? To pay for an Econet contract line bill: Simply
create a new message type 3*pay*Econet*570 To pay the bill for another number, e.g. 091000000, type 3*pay*Econet*570*091000000 and send to 444 or 747
When an SMS comes back requesting parts of your password, reply with 3*53, where 5 and 3 are the requested parts, just like for topup.
