FBC Holdings was over the moon after retaining the top Financial Institutions Exhibitor of the year award, at the just ended Midlands Show 2017.

This year’s edition of the Midlands Show was running under the theme ‘Wealth Through Value Addition’. Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Huang Ping, who was the guest of honor at the event handed over the award to the FBC exhibitors team. Ambassador Ping spoke highly of the top prestigious winners as he handed over various awards to all the outstanding winners of the day. FBC had an open stand that was trendy and colorful, it was exhibiting its financial and insurance products currently on the market. Its latest insurance product Cyber Insurance pulled a lot of visitors closer to get more information on the product, especially after the business world was hit by a devastating global hack.

In June this year a massive ransomware attack  hit computers and servers worldwide causing turmoil in its path. Locally, the Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) despite boasting of being the premier institution in training cyber security professionals was allegedly hacked and all its staff and student data, records, and emails were encrypted. FBC Reinsurance company has shown an understanding of the importance of mitigating cyber risks and has thus developed a comprehensive risk management framework as well as a cyber insurance product to cover  businesses in case of cyber attacks.

Speaking to Risk Insure Zimbabwe, one of the FBC exhibitors Mercy said that she was excited about the award and “Proud of being recognized (once again) as the best Financial Services Exhibitor of the year. The award comes at a time when FBC Holdings scooped the Banking Company of the Year Award in the Zimbabwe Quoted Companies Survey 2017.
